FAMILY ACTIVITIES

The Labor Day Weekend is a special time for us here at the Chico Church of Christ. We spend from Saturday afternoon through Monday afternoon, at the beautiful Church of Christ campgrounds in Lake Almanor California. Since 1954 this wonderful place has been a gathering spot for old and young alike. Many Youth camps are conducted there throughout the summer.                                                          The Chico Church of Christ has been able to use the camp every Labor Day weekend for many years. We enjoy wonderful studies, great lectures, food, games, entertainment, and fellowship. Most of all we all share in the family of God. Here are some recent pictures from are time there this year.  Our Second Annual Thanksgiving Neighborhood Dinner was a big success. Estimated attendance was 104. We all feasted on traditional Thanksgiving foods that our wonderful Church of Christ members prepared. There was turkey, ham, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, cranberries, rolls, vegetables, dressing, and of course pumpkin pie. Lots of people served our welcome guests. We are hoping to make this an annual dinner. Click on the button below to see what fun we had.

Also this year we celebrated Fall with Lylefest. I bet you are wondering just what is a Lylefest. Well let me tell  you. One of our elders is named Lyle and for quite a few years he has been organizing a fun filled night of games and prizes. All the games are created by him. The prizes are gathered by his wife Wendy and what prizes they are. Anywhere from a singing toy to car freshners. It certainly is a wild time. This year we had about 50 people who participated.
